Festival of Trees

2009 Festival Of TreesJoin us as the Portsmouth Garden Club hosts an exhibit of Holiday Trees at the Urban Forestry Center. We’ll decorate and display our Tropical Tree for viewing and judging.

Thanks to some great work by Ann Mary, Jerome, the Woods, and Dave Mc our tree is set up and looking festive.  We’re sure we’ll be the envy of all the other decorators.

Portsmouth Halloween Parade

Join us at the Portsmouth Halloween Parade. Now 15 years old the Parade is a “grassroots, all-inclusive alternative to contemporary Halloween. Striving always to strip the plastic back out of the holidays fantastic, it is a celebration of community, creativity, resourcefulness and free expression which walks, stalks, dances”  And so much fun!! Attend in costume to watch or march. We’ll have A chance to socialize after the parade.

Scarecrows of the Port

Join in as Portsmouth celebrates the Harvest Season! There will be a unique display of scarecrows throughout the city. We’ll be making and displaying our own Tropical Scarecrow as well as volunteering to deliver and set up scarecrows in the entire city on October 16. Details TBA.

Update:

Our scare crow is up and looks phabulous. We wish you to note that this is a scare Crow and a scare Flamingo! Next time you’re in Portsmouth cruise by and check her out.  Her tropical ensemble is sure to keep her and all who visit her warm and cozy inside. Unless I”m mistaken, her cup o pumpkin juice is looking a bit parched.  Perhaps Phenius the Phlamingo has been sneaking one too many sips.
